Our Department of Architecture aims to graduate innovative, entrepreneurial and creative designers who will take part in the processes of planning, designing, constructing, creating sustainable environment and living spaces in a cultural heritage environment respecting the society, nature, universal and ethical values through critical and independent thinking.

A student-oriented educational approach is adopted for the development of research, analysis, synthesis and critical thinking skills in architecture undergraduate program. The educational approach of the department leads the student to question and research, to solve critical, theoretical and experimental design problems for changing and differentiating user needs where theory and practice are intertwined. The main goal is to graduate professionals with current practices and future projections in the context of different disciplines, technological, social and cultural factors related with architecture, to provide knowledge through the production and sharing of scientific data, to gain experience, and to develop a creative perspective. In the context of this goal, our education program is supported by activities such as design competitions, exhibitions, workshops, seminars and conferences, as well as site and urban visits, travels, field studies, photography and various activities.

Our students graduated from the program and received the title of 'architect' have opportunity to work in primarily architectural design offices, construction companies, restitution/restoration projects, planning, manufacturing projects and many other working areas. In addition, the graduates can take responsibility in the project and construction site coordination-planning, professional supervision, construction site managing, architectural project and site assignment. They can work with architectural practice and management responsibilities in companies, offices, and many public institutions and organizations with the title of architect. The architects will be able to find job opportunities in many professional areas in our country and in foreign countries. Further more, they can continue their studies as academician and take part in architectural education activities by having master and doctoral degree in the preferred areas of specialization after undergraduate education.
