Students who are not going to study in Prep Program and registered in Associate and Undergraduate Programs can take English I (ENG101) exam and /or Advanced English I (ENG 103) exam if they want to be exempted from these courses in fall term. Taking these exams are not compulsory. ENG 101 course is for departments where medium of instruction is Turkish. ENG 103 is for departments where medium of instruction is English which is Political Sciences and Economics. English II (ENG 102) and Advanced English II (ENG 104) exams are going to be held in spring term.

Those who would like to take the exams are to APPLY for the exam on OIS SYSTEM between October 2 and October 4 till midnight as they are going to be added to the relevant classes on BLACKBOARD Platform on October 5.

ENGLISH I (ENG 101) EXEMPTION EXAM

The exam is 80 minutes. The exam will be on Wednesday, October 6, between 13.00 and 13.20.

Content:

This exam consists of four parts: grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension and listening. The wrong answers do not have an impact on the correct ones.

Exam Results:

In line with your results, you can be exempted from the course and are given a Letter Grade. Please go over the table below:

ADVANCED ENGLISH I (ENG 103) EXEMPTION EXAM

Exam duration is 140 minutes. The exam will start at 15:00.

Content:

Advanced English I (ENG 103) Exemption Exam has 2 reading texts, a note taking listening, grammar and vocabulary parts. The reading is 60 minutes. There are 25 questions. The number of questions in the listening section is 15. Grammar and vocabulary are 40 questions. It is 60 minutes.
