Prof. Dr. Fatma Kanca
Fatma Kanca 1980 yılında Çaycuma’da doğmuştur. 2001 yılında Kocaeli Üniversitesi Matematik Bölümü’nde lisans eğitimi, 2004 yılında yüksek lisans eğitimini tamamlamıştır. 2011 yılında doktora derecesini Gebze Yüksek Teknoloji Enstitüsü Matematik Bölümü’nden almıştır. 2014 yılında Matematik alanında Doçent unvanını almıştır.
2013-2017 yılları arasında Kadir Has Üniversitesinde öğretim üyesi olarak çalışmıştır. 2018 Nisan ayında kuruluş aşamasında çalışmaya başladığı Fenerbahçe Üniversitesi Bilgisayar Mühendisliği Bölümünde Bölüm Başkanlığı, Mühendislik ve Mimarlık Fakültesi Dekan Yardımcılığı ve çeşitli komisyon üyeliği görevleri almıştır. 2020 yılında Profesör unvanını almıştır. 2022 Nisan-2024 Haziran ayları arasında Mühendislik ve Mimarlık Fakültesinde Dekanlık görevini gerçekleştirmiştir. 22 Aralık 2023 tarihinde Fenerbahçe Üniversitesi’ne Rektör olarak atanmıştır.
Ters problemler, lokal olmayan sınır koşulları alanlarında Uluslararası bilimsel dergilerde SCI endeksli çok sayıda yayını, ulusal ve uluslararası konferanslarda sunulmuş çok sayıda bildirisi bulunmaktadır. WOS h-indeksi 8’dir.
Evli ve 3 çocuk sahibidir.
