The aim of the multi-disciplinary Sport Sciences doctorate program is to graduate qualified scientists equipped with advanced theoretical and practical knowledge, who can conduct research at an international level in the field of Sport Sciences. In this program, by giving doctorate education in Sport Sciences at the highest level, it is aimed to prepare sport scientists who have gained the ability to conduct advanced scientific research within the principles of Sport Sciences, can follow international literature, are open to development in their own field, can fulfill the requirements of independent and joint group work when necessary.
Our Sport Sciences doctorate program students specialize in the field they choose by determining one of the sub-modules in the field of Sport Sciences: Movement, Training and Health, Psychosocial Fields in Sport and Education, and Sport and Recreation Management.

Admission Requirements
Graduation from bachelor’s/master’s degree programs in the field of Physical Education and Sport Sciences at universities in Turkey or foreign universities recognized as equivalent by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK).
Turkish citizens who have studied abroad are required to apply to the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) for a certificate of equivalence regarding the higher education institution where they studied. The certificate of equivalence must be submitted during university registration.
Submission of a master’s diploma/degree certificate (According to Article 1/b of the Regulation on the Amendment of the Regulation on Graduate Education and Training published in the Official Gazette dated February 6, 2013 and numbered 28551, students who started and graduated from a non-thesis master’s program after February 6, 2013 are not eligible to apply for doctoral programs).

“Obtaining a score of at least 55 in the Equal Weight, Verbal, or Quantitative section of the Academic Personnel and Graduate Education Entrance Examination (ALES) or holding an equivalent score from one of the international examinations recognized by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), obtained within the last five years.”
Obtaining a score of at least 55 in a foreign language other than the mother tongue from one of the foreign language examinations accepted by YÖK/ÖSYM, or holding an equivalent score from one of the international foreign language examinations recognized as equivalent, for applicants applying to doctoral programs.
Having a minimum undergraduate graduation grade point average of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale, or the equivalent in the 100-point grading system accepted by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), and obtaining at least 80 points in the Equal Weight, Verbal, or Quantitative section of ALES, or holding an equivalent score from one of the international examinations recognized as equivalent by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK), for applicants applying to doctoral programs with an undergraduate degree.
Admission Requirements for International Students
Graduation from bachelor’s/master’s degree programs in the field of Physical Education and Sport Sciences at universities in Turkey or foreign universities recognized by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) with a certificate of equivalence/school recognition.
Applicants of foreign nationality applying to programs taught in Turkish are required to have graduated from a bachelor’s or master’s program in which the medium of instruction is Turkish at any higher education institution in Turkey or abroad, or to possess an official document showing that they have obtained at least a B2 level or an equivalent score in a Turkish language proficiency examination administered by Fenerbahçe University Turkish Language Teaching, Application and Research Center, Yunus Emre Institute, or another Turkish language teaching center of a university in Turkey.
Foreign applicants applying to doctoral programs are required to obtain a score of at least 55 in a foreign language other than their mother tongue from one of the foreign language examinations accepted by YÖK/ÖSYM, or to hold an equivalent score from one of the international examinations recognized as equivalent by the Council of Higher Education (YÖK).

The ranking of applicants is determined based on the ALES score, undergraduate grade point average, and interview results, as specified in the admission requirements. For international students, however, the ranking is determined solely by the undergraduate grade point average and interview results. If admitted candidates do not complete their registration, the same procedure will be applied to candidates on the waiting list. The total program quota is 15.
