Medicana, in collaboration with Ataşehir Municipality, organized a conversation to highlight the power of women and their contributions to society. The event, titled “Inspiring Women,” featured several prominent speakers, including Gizem Örge, player of the Fenerbahçe Medicana Women's Volleyball Team; Dr. Özgün İyigün, MD, Internal Diseases Specialist at Medicana Ataşehir Hospital; Prof. Dr. Rukiye Gülay Öztürk, Dean of the Faculty of Communication at Fenerbahçe University; and Sociologist Elif Duygu Adıgüzel.

Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Fatma Kanca, and our Vice Rectors, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Selamoğlu and Prof. Dr. M. Yıldırım Üçtuğ, also participated in the event held at the İnal Aydınoğlu Cultural Center. The Mayor of Ataşehir Municipality, Onursal Adıgüzel, delivered the opening speech and concluded by saying, “I congratulate all women who beautify our world with their efforts, perseverance, and courage on March 8, International Working Women's Day.”

In her speech, Prof. Dr. Rukiye Gülay Öztürk, Dean of the Faculty of Communication at our university, highlighted the role of women's leadership in social change. Sharing her views on women's education, Gülay Öztürk said, “There have been significant developments for women in academia. According to YÖK's 2025 research, the number of female academics in our country is above the global average. Furthermore, while women account for 30 percent of scientific publications worldwide, they make up 40 percent in Turkey. Additionally, the latest research shows that women leaders are more prominent in the retail and service sectors.”

After the event, the speakers were presented with flowers and plaques by Gül Uğurlu, Medicana Brand and Corporate Communications Director, and Murat Kaya, General Manager of Medicana Ataşehir Hospital.
