Prof. Dr. Şükriye Güniz KÜÇÜKGÜZEL
After graduating with first place, from Faculty of Pharmacy in Marmara University, worked as an analyst in the Quality Control laboratory of Bilim Pharmaceuticals Inc. between 1991-1993.
In the year of 1998 her doctoral dissertation was granted with the “Mustafa Nevzat Eczacılık” award. In the same year, was granted with the outstanding achievement award by the Rectorate of Marmara University, for services in teaching and for showing outstanding academic success. Granted with “Science Award of 2017” by the Pharmacy Academy of Turkish Pharmacists’ Association (TEB). At the organization of “Health Awards of 2020” was granted with the “Health Proffessional of the year- Innovative Pharmacist of the Year” award by Doktorclub, an association that is comprised of Faculty of Medicine from both Istanbul University and Okan University, for a TÜBİTAK project called “Develepmoent of new generation of synthetic agents against prostate cancer”.
In the year of 2020, was included in a list called as “Most Influential Scientists” alongside with 857 other Turkish Scientists. This list was created with certain scientific criteria by a team of American and Dutch Scientists and led by Stanford University in the United States of America. This list was published in ScienceDirect PLOS Biology.
Research and review articles have been published by international peer-reviewed journals covered by Science Citation Index (SCI). There are international and national papers presented at scientific meetings and published in the proceedings books.
Contributed many SCI-covered journals as reviewer and Editorial Board Member. Managed many scientific projects granted by TÜBİTAK, TÜSEB and Marmara University, Scientific Research Projects Unit. Her papers receive many citations from WoS-indexed journals.
Development of novel compounds against Hepatitis-C virus NS5B polymerase and synthesis and characterization of anti-cancer agents are her major research topics. Has national and international patents on pharmaceutical area. Has the authorship of the book, “Eczacılık ve Sağlık Bilimleri Öğrencileri İçin Organik Kimya” (Organic Chemistry for Pharmacy and Health Sciences Students).
Founding member of Marmara University Faculty of Pharmacy Alumni Association, also served as the head and a member of the board of directors and supervisory board in this association. Served as the head of the Faculty of Pharmacy Internship Commission, the head of the Education Guide Commission, and also served as the Deputy Dean. Provided the restructuring of the Practice Pharmacy of the Faculty, as the head of the Internship Committee and during duty as the Dean. Prepared the Education Guide with a commission; in 2009, 2011 and 2016. Served as the editor of the M.U. Faculty of Pharmacy Graduation Assignments Booklet and M.U. Extended Education Program Booklet. Provided the organization of a National Marmara Pharmacy Congress for the first time in 2016, served in the presidency and organization of the International 3rd İVEK congress. She took part in the Golden Mortar Award jury in 2015-2019. Established the Department of Pharmacy Management in Faculty and served as the Founding Department Head.
Between 2014-2019, took on the administration of Marmara University Haydarpaşa Campus. Served as a member of M.U. Strategy-Development and BAPKO commission, M.U. Women's Studies Application and Research Center (ESKAR). Served as a member of the M.U. Board of the Innovation and Technology Application and Research Center and the M.U. Hypertension and Atherosclerosis Education, Application and Research Center (HIPAM). Served as the Dean of Marmara University Faculty of Pharmacy, Küçükgüzel provided the restructuring of the Faculty in the Recep Tayyip Erdoğan Complex and its transfer to the new and technological building on 13-14 September 2019.
A member of the Executive Board of the Faculty of Pharmacy Deans Council and served as the head of the Internship Committee. Founder of Marmara Drug Formulation and Development Unit (MİFGEB) and has served as the head of administrative board.
Served as a member at the Republic of Turkey Presidency Strategy and Budget Department 11th Development Plan Specialization Commission for Transformation in Health Industries.
Prof.Dr. Ş. Güniz Küçükgüzel, a member of Pharmaceutical and Medicinal Chemistry Society. Married to Prof.Dr. İlkay Küçükgüzel with 2 daughters.
